Well I managed to get the offical opening day done and dusted. Boy was it busy!!!!
Ribbon cutting was preformed by Debbie the rep from King Cole. We were lucky enough to be joined by Ian Lloyd the chairman of Clitheroe Chamber of Trade. Later we also enjoyed a visit from our town cryer.
We had a great day. The town was busy and the shop was buzzing all day. My lovely knit and natter ladies Debbie and Janet spent all day teaching people to knit and giving advice. They did a fantastic job.
Debbie the rep from King Cole was also available all day and she ran three fashion shows in the afternoon Showing us the King Cole range of fantastic yarns and sneek previewing the new yarns available this September.
We had 4 fantastic models aged between 11 and 17 who strutted their way around the shop like professionals.
A special thanks goes to my Aunt and Uncle who travelled over from Northern Ireland to help. My Uncle was my offical photgrapher.
It was so much fun I’m going to run another event on November 13th. Not sure what will be going on but will keep you informed.

The Knit and Natter group are joining me at 11am for a photo shoot. The press have been invited as part of the poetry event we are taking part in during September.
Participating shops have been given a poem to display in their window during the event. We decided to knit a background for our poem ‘I am a knitted woman’ by Jane Eagland.
We have been knitting garter stitch squares in shades of beize which fits in with the poem. I will ask the poet today when she comes for the photo and if she will allow me to post a copy of the poem on here tonight.

I had another delivery today which was the second big box of Flamenco.
4 bags of Teal finally arrived but 1 bag was sold before I’d even had chance to check off the delivery note!
I now have plenty of stock but I don’t think it will last very long so move quickly if you want to secure a particular colour.
I also received another ladder yarn which is £2.99 for 50g ball. 4 colours to choose from.

As you can see I’ve timed my Grand opening event for the shop to coincide with the street market day. It should be a very busy day in the town with lots to see and do for all the family.
We will be offering mini workshops throughout the morning.
Debbie the Rep King Cole will be running fashion shows at 1, 2 & 3pm. Debbie will be in store all day for any wool related questions you may have.
My Knit and Natter ladies will also be on hand to teach anyone who would like to learn how to cast on and knit.
With the very kind help of King Cole and James Brett I have 100 goodie bags ready for the day which will be given to the first 100 customers who spend £5 or over. To be fair on everyone the goodie bags are limited to one per person.
Creative Yarns have been kind enough to donate a prize for an instore raffle. You can obtain a ticket for £1 donation to the ‘Help for Heros’ Charity. The tickets will be available from 31st July and will be drawn at the end of the last fashion show. Let’s see how much we can raise for this worthwhile cause.
I will post further details as I have them.
As we have so many regular customers who will be away on holiday and will miss the opening event I hope to run an ‘Autumn Spectacular’ later in the year to make up for it. Watch this space. :-)
